Tomorrow’s the big day for my walk in support of a cure to end Alzheimer’s. I’m walking in memory of my Mother Rita. My husband and my dog will be walking along with me and I’ll be posting pictures on Facebook during the walk so please be sure to check them out throughout the day.
It may be difficult for some to understand just how awful this disease is until you’ve watched a loved one suffer from it. The best way I know how to describe it is like this…Alzheimer’s steals the mind of it’s memories and the body of it’s abilities. One of the most heartbreaking days for me was when my Mother no longer recognized me. It was like taking a bullet. I felt like I lost my best friend. That’s why this walk is so important to me. I want to help find a cure for this disease so no one has to lose a loved one to Alzheimer’s.
